Background

Heavitree is a district of Exeter, Devon, England. Part of the historic district is currently one of the wards for elections to the City Council. Formerly an independent Urban District, it became a part of Exeter in 1913. It lies to the east of the city centre, and was formerly the first significant village outside the city on the road to London. In many respects it retains its village feel.

It has a population of 5398 with 9.9% of this being over 75 years of age. A full breakdown can be found here

Heavitree has two primary schools, two large GP practices and a 19 acre Pleasure Ground. Fore Street is home to a number of shops, pubs and restaurants.

NHW Heavitree is working closely with another community organisation, Park Life Heavitree. Park Life Heavitree connects to an active community of local residents. Three street champions have been identified.
